Etimologia / Derivazione

La Z Latina è derivata dalla scrittura della lettera Z in Etrusco, con la riga centrale della lettera scritta in diagonale piuttosto che dritta .

In origine la lettera Z occupava il posto della 'G' nell'alfabeto ed era pronunciata , tuttavia, per il fenomeno del rotacismo, la z divenne pronunciata e rimossa dall'alfabeto Latino intorno al 4° secolo A.C.
