Template:elongated form of/documentation

This template creates a definition line for elongated forms of primary entries. It also categorizes the page into the proper language-specific subcategory of Category:Elongated forms by language (e.g. Category:English elongated forms). By default, this template displays its output with an initial capital letter if the term's language in |1= is English (but not otherwise). This can be overridden by using |nocap=1 to make the initial letter lowercase for English. This does not auto-add a final period; if (and only if) the term's language is English, you should manually include it after the template unless other text follows, since English definitions should be formatted like full sentences. This template is not meant to be used in etymology sections. Note that users can customize how the output of this template displays by modifying their Custom CSS files.
