The initial element азь- derives from Proto-Permic *aʒ́ (glade, meadow), from Proto-Uralic *aća. Compare with Komi-Zyrian адз (adź), Estonian aas and Hungarian aszó. The latter element -дор derives from дур (dur, border, edge, side). Compare with Komi-Zyrian дор (dor).
