Borrowed from Northern Kurdish biste, bisteh (sure, hopeful, bold; openly, boldly) recorded by Orbeli in Moks, which is cognate with the synonymous Central Kurdish بِستە (biste) and Persian گستاخ (gostâx, brash). Thus, a doublet of վստահ (vstah) and վստա (vsta).
