Etymology
From գոլ (gol) + -շի (-ši); the -ր (-r) in the spelling գոլորշի (golorši) was inserted by analogy with բոլորշի (bolorši).
Alternatively, the original form is գոլորշի (golorši), according to Martirosyan derived from Proto-Indo-European *wol-HuVrs-yeh₂- (“warm vapour”), composed of *wol- (“warm”), whence գոլ (gol), and *Hwers-, *Hwors-, whence Hittite (warša-, “fog, mist”), Ancient Greek ἕρση (hérsē, “dew”).
