Akin to Georgian ძუმელა (ʒumela), Mingrelian ჯუმენე (ǯumene), Laz ჯუმენი (cumeni). Ačaṙean derives the Armenian from Kartvelian,[1] but J̌ahukyan further compares Russian жми́нда (žmínda), Persian شومین (šumin, šomin), and suspects a borrowing from an unidentified source.[2]
