Cognate with Old Turkic 𐰇𐰏𐰾𐰃𐰔 (ügs²iz /ögsiz/), Azerbaijani öksüz, Bashkir үкһеҙ (ükheź), Kazakh әкесіз (äkesız), Kyrgyz өксүз (öksüz), Tatar үксез (üksez) and Tuvan өскүс (ösküs).
