Uncertain. Perhaps cognate with Kurukh (goṭṭā), Kumarbhag Paharia (goṭ). Compare also the Indo-Aryan terms Rajbanshi गोटै (goṭai, “all”), Kamta गोटेला (goṭelā, “all”), Kochila Tharu गोट्टे (goṭṭe, “all”), which are usually traced to Prakrit *𑀕𑁄𑀝𑁆𑀝 (*gŏṭṭa, “something round”).[1]
