From a shortenned form of Scythian *horamrunda (literally “lord of gifts”), cognate of Khotanese haurāka (“donor, giving”).[1] Compare 𐨱𐨆𐨪𐨨𐨂𐨪𐨿𐨟 (horamurta) and 𑀳𑁄𑀭𑀫𑀼𑀭𑁆𑀡𑁆𑀟𑀕 (horamurṇḍaga).
