The precise Svan descendant is debated. According to Klimov it's Svan თე (te), however according to Fähnrich–Sarǯvelaʒe თე (te) is derived from Proto-Kartvelian *ter- (white) and instead they derive Svan შდულ (šdul, loophole, embrasure).
