What is the relationship between this article and Old English hliþ? Guus Kroonen lists three related Proto-Germanic terms: *hlainjan- 'to cause to lean', *hlaiwa- 'barrow, funeral mound', *hlinēn- 'to lean'. The first equals Proto-Germanic *hlainijaną.
