Entry name

Some vowels are lacking. It should be renamed *ḥVdVṯ-, probably ḥadaṯ- but the 1st vowel is sometimes or suggesting ḥidaṯ-. As someone who never studied PS conjugation, I'm not qualified for this. @Metaknowledge @Fay Freak sorry to bother u but can u ? Malku H₂n̥rés (talk) 08:27, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Malku H₂n̥rés, Fay Freak: Vocalisation is not arbitrary; there are limited options corresponding to verbal classes, which I have recommended we represent in the page title, but to which I have received no response. This is a difficult case, where the Akkadian is an i/i verb, but the Arabic shows u. I am still a bit confused by where Akkadian i/i verbs come from, but Kuryłowicz apparently considers this to be a case where we should assume the Arabic is original, in which case it is a u/u verb in PS, and the entry should be *-ḥduṯ. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 20:01, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Metaknowledge of course it's not arbitrary it's the principle of any inflection to follow patterns. I just proposed a tentative draft in some seconds. There are 5 verbal classes and a story of thematic vowel like for PIE. I didn't said anything in "About:PS" talk page bc it would have been likely useless, but I think if nobody answered you about conjugation it's just bc we don't know, you're the best qualified for PS, it's yours to choice the standard for verbal entry names and the way the conjugation template will work. (By the way sorry for the edit on *ʔahl- I won't do so again) Malku H₂n̥rés (talk) 21:58, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
