To define preaching as a harangue is about as incorrect as it could possibly be. At least in the Christian tradition, preaching is the act of announcing that Jesus is Christ and Lord, and that he brings about spiritual gifts that are eternal. I realize there are plenty of other religions, and what they mean by preaching could be very different from this. But, for Christians, it is an announcement, certainly not a harangue. L. Thomas W.
