This also seems to be a slangy shortening of "strap-on", as in "she definitely uses the strap", but I haven't found durable examples. - -sche (discuss) 04:14, 5 May 2018 (UTC)

Rfv-sense, as short for strap-on. I can find uses on Twitter (, , , ), but it's difficult to search for, and I haven't found it anywhere durable. grendel|khan 23:25, 25 May 2020 (UTC)

Chambers 1908 gives a transitive sense "to hang", glossed as Scottish. Whether it means to hang a picture on a wall, to execute a person by hanging, etc., I have no idea... Equinox ◑ 11:34, 22 December 2022 (UTC)

Should the use of strap to mean "strap-on" be added on the basis of wide use online? Here's a meme on Reddit referencing how common it is in queer communities, a use in a Vice article ("the person wearing the strap."), in an Autostraddle article (alt, alt), Buzzfeed quoting a tweet ("this strap is so stunning"), and other random examples (of many) from Twitter and Reddit. (I'm surprised such a common word hasn't made it into printed media yet, e.g. alt-weeklies—perhaps it has and I just can't find it at Issuu because it's hard to search for this meaning amid the sea of other meanings and longer phrases like strap on.) - -sche (discuss) 01:24, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
