Synopsis

This template is used to create the headword line (the line of text that comes between the part-of-speech header (===Noun===) and the actual definitions of the word) in entries for Hebrew nouns. By traditional grammar, Hebrew nouns have 28 forms (though some are fairly rare), or up to 56 if we include the pausal forms; this template makes no attempt to include all these forms (they can be included with {{he-decl}}), but rather includes only three/four forms, from which the rest can generally be guessed accurately.

This template contains the necessary meta-data to allow users who are using accelerated editing to create any grammatical forms semi-automatically.

Parameters

The template can take the following parameters:

|sc=
The script code. See Wiktionary:Scripts. This is rarely needed, automatically detected. The only exception are Paleo-Hebrew spellings e.g. 𐤉𐤓𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤉𐤌 (yərūšālayim).
|wv= or |dwv=
The headword with vowels, for display purposes. Use dwv if the spelling with vowels differs from the spelling without vowels for displaying both spellings.
|head=, |head2=, |head3=...
An override for the headword display, overrides |wv= and |dwv=.
|tr=
A transliteration of the headword into the Latin alphabet, as described at Wiktionary:About Hebrew. If this is omitted, the term is added to Category:Requests for transliteration of Hebrew terms.
|g=
The gender and/or number separated by a hyphen. Number only when other than singular. Note that this is not for plural or dual forms of nouns but only for dual or plural only nouns.
Genders: m for masculine, f for feminine.
Numbers: d for dual or p for plural. The term is added to Category:Hebrew dualia tantum or Category:Hebrew pluralia tantum, respectively.
If this is omitted, the page is added to Category:Requests for gender in Hebrew entries.
|g2=
A second gender, used only if |g= is supplied: usually |g=m|g2=f.
|pat=
The pattern of the term, in defective spelling with vowels.
|pausal=
The Biblical Hebrew pausal form with vowels. The default, if these are not specified, is that no pausal form appears in the entry.

Forms parameters

For any of the following parameters, there is available PARAMETERwv= and PARAMETERdwv= to specify their forms with vowels, if they are different from the spelling without vowels.

|pl= and |pl2=, |pl3=...
The plural indefinite form. If the noun is a singulare tantum, most likely uncountable this should be set to - and will be added to Category:Hebrew nouns without plural forms. If this is omitted, the term is added to Category:Hebrew noun entries missing plural forms.
|dual= and |dual2=, |dual3=...
The dual indefinite form, rare.
|cons= and |cons2=, |cons3=...
The singular construct form. If no construct forms exist this can be set to - and will be added to Category:Hebrew nouns without construct forms. If this is omitted, the term is added to Category:Hebrew noun entries missing singular construct forms.
|dualcons= and |dualcons2=, |dualcons3=...
The dual construct form, really rare.
|plcons= and |plcons2=, |plcons3=...
The plural construct form. If this is omitted, the term is added to Category:Hebrew noun entries missing plural construct forms.
|m= and |m2=, |m3=... or |f= and |f2=, |f3=...
The masculine or feminine counterpart, if there is one. (This is for noun pairs like איש ('ish, man)אישה ('ishá, woman).)
