{{RQ:Milton Paradise Lost}}
sets the "chapter" parameter of {{quote-book}}
to Book {{uc:{{{book|{{{1|}}}}}}}}
. The book
parameter is marked as required in the docs, but it doesn't complain if you don't fill it in; see this edit for an example. Please add an {{#if:}}
or {{#switch:}}
to include a maintenance line like {{maintenance line|please specify the book number}}
, as is done in {{RQ:Douay Bible}}
. (I'd do it myself, but I don't have template-editor rights, and I don't think I can nominate myself for them.) grendel|khan 16:43, 7 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
- @Grendelkhan: Done. Thanks for pointing that out. You don't have template editor rights? But haven't you been creating quotation templates? — SGconlaw (talk) 16:58, 7 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
- @Sgconlaw: I have, but you only need template editor rights to edit specifically-protected templates. I can create new ones and edit some existing ones, just not this particular template. See the page info; many of the dependent templates are thus protected, but many (for example,
{{nb...}}
) aren't. grendel|khan 18:00, 7 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
- @Grendelkhan: oh, I didn’t notice it was edit-protected. I wonder why. I’ve lowered the protection level. — SGconlaw (talk) 18:22, 7 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
This is too complicated for me to fiddle with, but the title should only be given once and so should details of a publisher and publishing location. Ƿidsiþ 05:34, 8 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
- @Widsith: I think this is a special case. It is an exact reproduction of the first edition, with the same pagination. In these cases it is reasonable to provide the imprint information of the first edition. — SGconlaw (talk) 08:53, 8 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
- OK but then I wouldn't bother with the reprint information. Ƿidsiþ 10:26, 8 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

- @J3133: oh, good. I was about to suggest that it might be a transient problem. When I was using IA last night I found that it was taking a long time for pages to load. — SGconlaw (talk) 14:06, 19 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- @J3133: IA seems to be experiencing severe problems with its servers. I'm having difficulty accessing this and other works again. — SGconlaw (talk) 15:41, 19 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- @J3133: there’s a weather-related power outage in the San Francisco Bay Area that has hit the IA datacenter: https://twitter.com/brewster_kahle/status/1439622667120754689?s=21. Guess we have to expect disruptions for a few hours if not days. — SGconlaw (talk) 17:32, 19 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
