2015 thread

I added this template at auto-. Why do e.g. autobiography and autofocus not appear in the resulting list, even though they had the correct etymology before I did this? Equinox 18:51, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

I see them in the list. —CodeCat 19:42, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I get it. They're not in alpha order because confixes seem to come first. Equinox 19:43, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

2022 WingerBot activity

This template will need updating regarding "English words" versus "English terms" in accordance with WingerBot's edit summaries like "WingerBot moved pages like 'Category:English words prefixed with X' to 'Category:English terms prefixed with X' without leaving a redirect: rename 'words' -> 'terms' in affix and compound categories (see Wiktionary:Beer parlour/2022/August)". As I write this, the template is still outputting "English words", leaving prefix entries with "category does not exist" displayed. Probably someone would address this issue soon even if I didn't comment here, is my hypothesis, but I don't know for sure. Quercus solaris (talk) 03:35, 2 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Quercus solaris Thanks, I'll fix it. Benwing2 (talk) 05:37, 2 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

The usual parameters

Could we please have, some time in the future, the ininline with |noast=1 |nobull=1 for no asterisk / no bullet? Sometimes is needed to add text next to it
or |alt=? as in diff Thank you ‑‑Sarri.greek  I 20:16, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Example, needed at πυρο- (pyro-) where we have together accented and unaccented in the same Category:Greek terms prefixed with πυρο- / πυρό- ... etc. Lua error in Module:parameters at line 573: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "templates" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E. ‑‑Sarri.greek  I 01:09, 13 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

sam- vs sām-

I've used this template at etymology 1 of sām-, at the derived terms. How can I get what is returned to show sām- rather than sam- ? Leasnam (talk) 02:57, 2 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
