Hello, please use templates such as {{vi-noun}}
or {{vi-verb}}
instead of {{head}}
, since they would facilitate adding elements such as classifiers to the entries. I recommend using {{ux}}
and {{uxi}}
when providing examples since they would automatically adding categories to the entries. Also, it would be helpful to readers if you could link the English definition of the words to the relavant English entries.PhanAnh123 (talk) 10:18, 27 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
- You can use this site to search for Sino-Vietnamese words. Also please use
{{vi-etym-sino}}
when formatting.PhanAnh123 (talk) 05:47, 16 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
- Cool. I'll try that out. ColePeltier93 (talk) 07:16, 16 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
- Please add a comma at the end of the etymology section of the entries, following the convention of general Vietnamese entries. PhanAnh123 (talk) 04:16, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
- Perhaps you mean a period. OK. ColePeltier93 (talk) 04:51, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
- Thanks, that what I meant. My brain doesn't work great in the morning, sorry.PhanAnh123 (talk) 05:17, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hello, do you have idea what the Private-Use-Area characters 𧳘、𤞻、 is? Thanks. EdwardAlexanderCrowley (talk) 05:18, 14 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
- I'm not sure what your question means. The characters have radicals: 豸/⺨ (implying a "fierce beast"). One component is "含" / "hán" (implying a mouth could be involved, such as in sucking or swallowing, or something is hiding). It could simply be used here as a phonetic marker, for Vietnamese "hùm" and Chinese "hán". They seem a bit similar to "蛿" meaning "a kind of poisonous caterpillar" in ancient Chinese. The characters are associated with Vietnamese "hùm beo", meaning dangerous/ferocious beasts (or evil people). "hùm" is associated with various expressions involving "tigers". Some Chinese dictionaries claim that these characters: "𧳘" and "𤞻" are native to Vietnam and not used elsewhere. ColePeltier93 (talk) 08:01, 14 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
- I can't figure out the font of . Neither Han Nom A.ttf nor Han Nom B.ttf. Nevertheless, thanks. EdwardAlexanderCrowley (talk) 10:14, 14 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
- You can see this character using "Nôm Na Tống" font. I downloaded this font and an app called BabelPad. The app allowed me to see the character using the font in the character map. However, it doesn't look related. It has components: 口,木,区. ColePeltier93 (talk) 13:01, 14 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I see that you created 修成正果 recently without definitions other than labels. In the future, it would be better to request this at WT:Requested entries (Chinese) rather than creating an entry with {{rfdef}}
. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 00:31, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- I'll keep that in mind, amigo. ColePeltier93 (talk) 06:25, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi. Both dị & thể are Sino-Vietnamese words so is dị thể actually a loanword or is it is Sino-Vietnamese word similar to lạp thể, kháng thể, or any of the other modern medical derived terms of thể? Gavinkwhite (talk) 04:29, 29 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
