Chinese as a descendant

Hi - I noticed you added this to France, and just wanted to say that you should be careful when adding Chinese as a descendant: firstly, in this case it was actually wrong, as it’s already given as a descendant under French France (which matches the etymology at the entry), and secondly you should give the specific variety of Chinese, because it doesn’t just cover Mandarin. You can see that other lects are also mentioned in the French section, and in some cases such as English sofa there may be multiple independent borrowings by different Chinese lects, so they can’t be grouped together.
