So far, I have not "normalized" any of the PA roots I have added; I have copied the spelling used by the references I cite. For the most part, scholars agree on the representation of Proto-Algonquian, but there are a few differences. Some use l, but Goddard has argued the phoneme is r (and this would seem to affect whether the term for egg is *wa·wal(w)i or *wa·war(w)i); one source has *-piči where another has *-piti (it is disputed whether č was an independent phoneme or an allophone of t before i); and the source I used for the pronoun prefixes had (C)i whereas others favour (C)e. As I continue to flesh out our coverage of PA, some pages may end up being moved. - -sche (discuss) 21:47, 2 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
- Shortly after I wrote this, I moved the prefixes to (C)e-. - -sche (discuss) 16:46, 5 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
