This project page might be best used solely regarding:
- Suggestions for deletion of an entire page.
- Resolution of actual disputes relating to prior deletions and subsequent reversions of taxons, senses, etc.
As it stands, some RFDs relate to mere suggestions for deletion of taxons and senses (etc.) without any actual history of back-and-forth conflict. Although those types of suggestions are collegial in theory, the forum here seems superfluous in that regard given how (a) editing tags, (b) entry discussion pages, and (c) user discussion pages are available to work out any conflict.
Additionally, I don't see any utility in creating needless conflict by badgering a user such as @Dentonius: i.e. a user who frequently votes only Keep without further comment. I agree with his implicit thinking that the burden of proof lies with those who want to delete. The notion that such a vote should be given less weight seems not only undemocratic but also antithetical to the type of prudence inherent in various principles of jurisprudence. The bar for deletion should not be higher than a preponderance of evidence, i.e. votes. The onus then falls on the Detoniuses-as-Keepers to argue in a manner that dissuades opposing votes. --Kent Dominic (talk) 10:20, 2 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
- Start a vote then. There are definitely enough words in you to do it. Equinox ◑ 10:37, 2 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
- I do not see any utility in this post. I doubt it will change the consensus. J3133 (talk) 15:07, 2 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
- @Equinox: and @J3133: If the Equinoxes of the world posted an RFD re. every rational or imbecilic urge to delete something before doing it anyway and the J3133es of the world read the respective posts from the anti-Detoniuses-as-Keepers of the world, you wouldn't have time to eat, sleep or do whatever otherwise occupies your time. --Kent Dominic (talk) 04:27, 3 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
