The brand name Unox here is perhaps a reference to the term soepeend (literally “soup duck”), a semi-jocular term for domestic ducks: Unox produces various canned and other ready-made soups, and is also particularly known for their rookworst (“smoked sausage”), a type of sausage that is commonly eaten in soup during the winter in the Netherlands.
