Borrowed from Javanese ꦫꦸꦢꦥꦼꦏ꧀ꦱ (rudapeksa), from Old Javanese rodra (“Rudra-like, violent”) + pakṣa (“intention”), from Sanskrit रौद्र (raudra, “violent, wild”) + पक्ष (pakṣa). Introduced in Sidang Komisi 1952 as translation of Dutch geweld by Prijana.
