1. (mythology) Rahab, a sea monster in Levantine mythology similar to Tannin and Leviathan
   • Tanach, Isaiah 51:9:

     עוּרִי עוּרִי לִבְשִׁי עֹז זְרוֹעַ ה', עוּרִי כִּימֵי קֶדֶם דֹּרוֹת עוֹלָמִים. הֲלוֹא אַתְּ הִיא הַמַּחְצֶבֶת רַהַב, מְחוֹלֶלֶת תַּנִּין

   Synonym: נֶפטוּן (néptun)

• "רהב" is a native Hebrew name introduced by the Academy of the Hebrew Language in 2009.^[1] The borrowed name נפטון (néptun) is still more commonly used.
