اِقْتَرَبَ (iqtaraba) VIII (non-past يَقْتَرِبُ (yaqtaribu), verbal noun اِقْتِرَاب (iqtirāb))

  1. to approach, to near, to draw near (مِنْ (min) to)
    تَقْتَرِبُ دَرَجةُ الحَرارةِ من الثَلاثينَ دَرَجةً.
    The temperature is approaching thirty degrees.
    ولِأنَّ اللهَ خالِقُهُم، كانَ سيُهَيِّئُ لهُمُ الوَسيلَةَ لِيَتَحَرَّروا مِنَ الخَطِيَّةِ ويَقتَرِبوا إلَيه.
    Because God is their Creator, He would provide the means for them to be freed from sin and draw near to Him.
