Semi-learned borrowing from Malay kemenyan (possibly via Classical Malay kamiñan). Cognate with Khmer កំញាន (kɑmñaan), Western Cham (kamơñan), Burmese ကက္ကုကမျဉ်း (kakku.ka.myany:).
