şişmek

From Ottoman Turkish شیشمك (şişmek, “to swell”), from Proto-Turkic *sīĺč- (“to swell”).^[1] With rarely seen /s/- to /ş/- assimilation due to final /ş/. Compare the only other two examples: şaşmak and şiş.
