Possibly inherited from Proto-Slavic *kyšěti. Cognate with Ukrainian киші́ти (kyšíty), Belarusian кішэ́ць (kišécʹ). Related to Lithuanian kušė́ti (to move) and to Latvian kustēt and kušņāt (to move).[1][2]
