1. to heal, to cure

   Synonym: أَبْرَأَ (ʔabraʔa)

     قَالَ أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ أَنْتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِي إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَنِي فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ وَٱلَّذِي هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِ وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ

     qāla ʔa-fa-raʔaytum mā kuntum taʕbudūna ʔantum wa-ʔābāʔukumu l-ʔaqdamūna fa-ʔinnahum ʕaduwwun lī ʔillā rabba l-ʕālamīna llaḏī ḵalaqanī fa-huwa yahdīni wa-llaḏī huwa yuṭʕimunī wa-yasqīni waʔiḏā mariḍtu fa-huwa yašfīni

     He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping, You and your ancient forefathers? Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, Who created me, and He guides me. And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. And when I am ill, it is He who cures me.

     قَالُوا لَنَا مَاتَ إِسْحَاقُ فَقُلْتُ لَهُمْ
     هٰذَا الدَّوَاءُ الَّذِي يَشْفِي مِنَ الْحُمُقِ

     qālū lanā māta ʔisḥāqu faqultu lahum
     hāḏā d-dawāʔu allaḏī yašfī mina l-ḥumuqi
