Etymology
From Persian نازک (nâzok, nâzak).
According to Nisanyan the transformation of the final vowel from /u/ or /y/ to /i/ occurred in the 13th century. This form is found in nearly all Turkic borrowings of the word including the more Persianized languages such as Uzbek nozik and Azerbaijani nazik.
