Etymology
From Sauraseni Prakrit *𑀧𑀳𑀼𑀁𑀘 (*pahuṃca, “wrist, forearm”), with further origin unknown. Cognate with Punjabi ਪਹੁੰਚਾ (pahuñcā), Nepali पौंजा (pauñjā).

This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium. Particularly: “The Prakrit term and its descendants look similar to 𑀧𑀳𑀼𑀘𑁆𑀘𑀤𑀺 (pahuccadi), whence पहुँचना (pahũcnā, “to arrive; to be felt”), with the latter deriving from Sanskrit प्रभूत (prabhūta, “much, great”). Is it possible for *𑀧𑀳𑀼𑀁𑀘 (*pahuṃca) to also derive from प्रभूत (or a similar compound, as *𑀧𑀳𑀼𑀁𑀘 lacks the dental stop at the end), taking an alternative semantic interpretation of its components? पहुँचा refers to "frontal" body parts, and प्रभूत is prefixed by प्र. At least, the *𑀧 (*pa) in *𑀧𑀳𑀼𑀁𑀘 could come from प्र- (pra-).”
