Sarǯvelaʒe (apud Fähnrich) together with Mingrelian ჩირქე (čirke, hoof) derives from Proto-Georgian-Zan *člik- without taking into account the alternative forms.[7][8] Note also Old Georgian ჭლაკი (č̣laḳi, paw; hoof), ჭლიკი (č̣liḳi),[9] the forms ჩლიქი, ჩლოქი, ჭლიკი, ჭლაკი (čliki, čloki, č̣liḳi, č̣laḳi) recorded by Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani,[10][11][12][13] as well as Mingrelian ჩორქო (čorko), Svan ჩილქ (čilk), ფო(რ)-ჩლიკ (po(r)-čliḳ).

Related to Old Armenian կճղակ (kčłak, hoof), Bats ჭალკო̆ (č̣alḳŏ), Andi чукӏа (čukʼa), Akhvakh цекӏа (cekʼa), чӏекӏа (čʼekʼa, foot).
