Cognate with Lithuanian pũsti (“to blow”), 1sg. puciù, pùsti (“to inflate”), 1sg. puntù, pūslė̃ (“blister, bladder”), Norwegian føysa (“to swell”), Sanskrit पुष्यति (púṣyati, “to thrive”), Latin pustula (“bubble”), possibly Ancient Greek φῡσάω (phūsáō, “to snort”), φῦσα (phûsa, “bellows, bubble”), Old Armenian փուք (pʻukʻ, “breath”).
