This template may be used on Wiktionary entry pages to quote from Richard Francis Burton's translation of Luís de Camões's work Os Lusiadas (The Lusiads) (1st edition, 1880, 2 volumes). It can be used to create a link to online versions of the work at the Internet Archive:
The template takes the following parameters:
|volume=
– the volume number quoted from in uppercase Roman numerals, either |volume=I
or |volume=II
. This parameter may be omitted if the page number is specified.|author=
– if quoting from a part of the work by Burton (for example, a note), specify |author=Burton
.|chapter=
– a chapter of the work quoted from.|stanza=
– if quoting from the main part of the work, the stanza number in Arabic numerals.|1=
or |page=
, or |pages=
– mandatory: the page number(s) quoted from in Arabic or lowercase Roman numerals, as the case may be. If quoting a range of pages, note the following:
|pages=10–11
or |pages=x–xi
.|pageref=
to indicate the page to be linked to (usually the page on which the Wiktionary entry appears).|2=
, |text=
, or |passage=
– the passage to be quoted.|footer=
– a comment on the passage quoted.|brackets=
– use |brackets=on
to surround a quotation with brackets. This indicates that the quotation either contains a mere mention of a term (for example, "some people find the word manoeuvre hard to spell") rather than an actual use of it (for example, "we need to manoeuvre carefully to avoid causing upset"), or does not provide an actual instance of a term but provides information about related terms.{{RQ:Camoes Burton Lusiads|stanza=71|page=387|passage=Deeds they shall do so digne '''memorious''' glory, / song shall not suit nor Hist'ory hold the story.}}
