Purpose

The template generates a collapsible table with the conjugation of a Turkish verb.

Important

This template should only be used for Turkish verbs whose stem ends in a consonant. For verbs with stems ending in a vowel, use {{tr-conj-v}}.

Parameters

The template has five parameters, all of which are obligatory.

  • 1 = The stem without the infinitive suffix (-mek / -mak)
  • 2 = The dominant (last) vowel in the stem
  • 3 = The third-person singular simple present form
See the rules at -er page.
  • 4 = The dominant vowel in the simple present form
  • 5 = t or d for the past definite forms:
t for stems ending in voiceless consonants, while d for voiced consonants.

Examples

  • For the verb yapmak:
    {{tr-conj|yap|a|yapar|a|t}}
  • For the verb gelmek:
    {{tr-conj|gel|e|gelir|i|d}}

Limitations

The template does not handle verbs for which the final consonant of the stem is voiced when followed by a vowel, but is voiceless in other cases, like for the verb etmek (ediyorettim). For such verbs, the template {{tr-conj-*tmek}} is used.
