Categories

The template should add to Category:Chinese nouns, same with other PoS templates. See 芋艿, which currently has no PoS categories. Maybe it should use {{head|zh|noun}}? --Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 01:28, 1 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

It's migrated to the |cat= parameter in zh-pron, which categories and sorts the entry based on the presence of readings and PoS's specified there. You can specify multiple PoS's using eg. |cat=n,v. Wyang (talk) 01:56, 1 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I've added <includeonly>]</includeonly>, etc., which will to to Category:Chinese nouns. --Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 02:24, 1 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

MW= parameter

@Wyang could you please restore "mw=" parameter(s)? It also needs to be preserved in future automatic merging and automatic entry generation. Not sure about trad.simp. pair like 個/个. In {{cmn-noun}}:

-->|{{#if:{{{mw|}}}|classifier}}<!--
-->|{{{mw|}}}<!--
-->|f3sc={{#switch:{{{1}}}|s=Hans|t=Hant|ts=Hani}}<!--

--Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 05:16, 22 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

How should it be formatted?
{{zh-noun|mw=本,张,份,冊/册,期}}

for 畫報? Wyang (talk) 05:33, 22 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Looks good to me. The usage of classifiers can be explained or demonstrated, if necessary. --Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 05:39, 22 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Kenny, Frank, could you make it show "classifier" add multiple parameters and variants, as discussed? --Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 22:03, 25 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Transliteration and Chinese terms needing transliteration

@CodeCat, @Wyang It's inpractical to request transliterations for Chinese terms. Currently six Chinese topolects are covered + variant pronunciations, there will possibly more in the future. Transliteration should stay in pronunciation section. That's the most practical way. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 23:12, 5 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

This template can be replaced by {{head|zh|noun}} (parameters of {{zh-noun}} are deprecated). -- 02:49, 23 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

What will happen to all the entries that still use it? ---> Tooironic (talk) 23:16, 3 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
They'll need to be bot-converted to {{head|zh|noun}} first. Theknightwho (talk) 23:31, 3 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
It won't take too long for a bot to convert them. Glades12 (talk) 10:07, 27 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Deprecate per above. – Wpi (talk) 14:03, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
