Hello, welcome to Wiktionary, and thank you for your contributions so far.
If you are unfamiliar with wiki-editing, take a look at Help:How to edit a page. It is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.

Please use the correct templates in etymologies ({{bor}}
, {{cog}}
, {{der}}
, {{inh}}
, etc.), and add definitions for obsolete senses rather than putting them in the etymology: we cover attested terms in all languages and all of history. Thanks! Chuck Entz (talk) 14:47, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
Hello @ZxxZxxZ, @Surjection, @Benwing2, @Rua. I noticed you helped create Module:links. I want to ask for your help.
I'm doing some work to interlink Wiktionary and Wikipedia more. For example, more and more articles now state the origin of the word in the first sentence, and link to Wiktionary. See for example w:Mathematics or w:History.
The issue. Around 2015, a small group of people chose to change the MOS to use single quotes for glosses, and the Wikipedia MOS was changed. I'd much prefer Wiktionary and Wikipedia to be consistent, and I much prefer the Wiktionary style.
I opened up a discussion here on the Wikipedia MOS:Talk page. If you'd enjoy, maybe you can help by chiming in and explain why single quotes is not necessarily preferred in 2022, or, if you have a different point of view, I'd enjoy to hear that too. 'wɪnd (talk) 13:50, 19 August 2022 (UTC)
