Welcome!
Hello, welcome to Wiktionary, and thank you for your contributions so far. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- How to edit a page is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.
- Entry layout explained (ELE) is a detailed policy documenting how Wiktionary pages should be formatted. All entries should conform to this standard, the easiest way to do this is to copy exactly an existing page for a similar word.
- Our Criteria for inclusion (CFI) define exactly which words Wiktionary is interested in including. There is also a list of things that Wiktionary is not for a higher level overview.
- If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide to Wikipedia users useful.
- The FAQ aims to answer most of your remaining questions, and there are several help pages that you can browse for more information.
- We have discussion rooms in which you can ask any question about Wiktionary or its entries, a glossary of our technical jargon, and some hints for dealing with the more common communication issues.
Also, please add a BabelBox to your userpage so we can help you with the languages you'll be working in.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! If you have any questions, bring them to the Wiktionary:Information desk, or ask me on my talk page. If you do so, please sign your posts with four tildes: ~~~~ which automatically produces your username and the current date and time.

You keep adding things with the part of speech at level 2 (e.g. ==Noun==) - it must be at level 3 (e.g. ===Noun===). SemperBlotto (talk) 10:53, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
- Oh, sorry! I noted the Tag L3 etc. in the history section, but could not get what it means. Thanks for noting it. Shivashree (talk) 10:57, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
- And see also (deprecated template usage) बहिणी. Every term must have a language and part of speech section. And the definition must start with a #. SemperBlotto (talk) 11:18, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
- Synonyms go at level 4 (====Synonyms====). Level 2 is for language entries only. (This is all explained in those welcome links above) SemperBlotto (talk) 11:30, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
- Part of speech at LEVEL THREE!!! SemperBlotto (talk) 08:11, 20 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Does ऊ really mean head louse in Marathi? If so, what gender is it? --Lo Ximiendo (talk) 19:29, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
- Yes, ऊ, it means head louse; gender is feminine, plural उवा. In Hindi, it's called जू. Shivashree (talk) 01:12, 20 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
- Thanks, even though I'm not looking for a word in Hindi. Next, how about निदान, especially the adjective? --Lo Ximiendo (talk) 01:45, 20 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
- निदान is used as निदान एवढे तरी कर meaning "do at least this much." किमान is used sometimes in the same sense, but mostly meaning minimum, e.g. किमान तापमान is minimum temperature. By the way, do you know Marathi? Shivashree (talk)
- Not really; it's just that I guess the transliteration. --Lo Ximiendo (talk) 02:08, 20 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
1) No headword
2) Definition does not start with #
PLEASE take time to read those welcome links. SemperBlotto (talk) 10:02, 20 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
