The WikiSEO extension allows you to replace, append or prepend the HTML title tag content
I do not see why this would be necessary. What would we add to the page title?
It also allows you to add common SEO (Search Engine Optimization) meta elements such as "keywords" and "description".
Google does not care about keywords. The description, on the other hand, appears to me too difficult to generate in any entry- and language-agnostic way. — SURJECTION / T / C / L / 06:13, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
Honestly this vote is premature because it's just based on "something that might improve SEO" which is in no way quantified. We don't know if we will get 20% more visitors, or any meaningful figure. As I just commented on Discord: No self-respecting search engine in 2023 is going to look at crap like "meta keywords" ... I think Google officially stopped paying attention to that in about 2005 ... however, since the proposed "plugin" just gives us the capability, and doesn't (by itself) do anything, i see no harm, unless it is computationally expensive. But really what's it going to do, and will we be spammers? Equinox ◑ 03:01, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
I know that a few different options have been floated around on how exactly to take advantage of WikiSEO once installed, but is there going to be a proposal which nails down the details? I hope so, personally. Chernorizets (talk) 05:02, 20 August 2023 (UTC)
The vote is now over, with 24 in favor, 3 opposed, and 0 abstaining. I think that's a clear pass. At least 67% needs to be in favor to pass a vote and 88.89% of the voters are in favor of this change. Netizen3102 (talk) 04:37, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
