luokanopettaja

1. class teacher (a teacher who teaches all or a majority of subjects to a class)

The luokanopettaja system is typically used in primary schools in Finland, whereas high schools usually have a teaching system based on subject teachers, i.e. teachers specialized in one or a small number of subjects, called aineenopettajat in Finnish.
