From взвох (vzvox), *взво́ха (cf. взво́шка (vzvóška)), alteration of взвод (vzvod, “raising”) (as in сва́ха (sváxa), пря́ха (prjáxa)), action noun of взводи́ть (vzvodítʹ); compare подво́х (podvóx), подво́ха (podvóxa), перево́ха (perevóxa). The similarity to взва́жить (vzvážitʹ) might be accidental.
