Inherited from Proto-Slavic *boraviti, of disputed origin. Limited to South Slavic.

• Per BER, possibly akin to бо́ря (bórja, “to wrestle”) +‎ -авя (-avja).
• Per Miklošič, from a hypothetical *bvor-, cognate with the copula *byti (“to be”).

      боравя с пари ― boravja s pari ― to handle money

   2. to make use of, to utilize

      Не мога да боравя с компютри.

      Ne moga da boravja s kompjutri.

      В царството вече боравят синовете на Шишман.

      V carstvoto veče boravjat sinovete na Šišman.
