Probably borrowed from Sogdian𐼸𐼻𐼿𐼷𐼸(kncyk, “young girl”), diminutive of 𐼸𐼻𐼿(knc, “girl”). Some anaylse it as *kan + *-čïk, however considering the root is unattested and the suffix would have been *-čük at the time, this is unlikely.
Compared to Proto-Tungusic*kačikān(“puppy”) by Altaicists however that is likely a borrowing from Turkic.
Noun
*kančïk
(Common Turkic)bitch; both in the sense of female dog and a promiscuous woman.
1) Originally only in pronominal declension. 2) The original instrumental, equative, similative & comitative cases have fallen into disuse in many modern Turkic languages. 3) Plurality is disputed in Proto-Turkic.
