oc-noun ? (plural oc-nouns)
This template is designed for the lemma of all Occitan nouns.
Only use this template for the noun's lemma entry (usually the singular). For non-lemma forms (plurals), use {{head|oc|plural}}
.
This template should be placed in Occitan noun sections, immediately following the ===Noun=== section header. It provides the inflection line for the entry. The template also automatically categorizes the entry in Category:Occitan nouns.
As with other Wiktionary inflection templates, please do not use subst:
.
This template contains the necessary meta-data to allow users who are using accelerated editing to create any grammatical forms semi-automatically.
This template requires one unnamed parameter. All nouns should have this unnamed parameter. Regular nouns may have only the one unnamed parameter, or they may include additional unnamed parameters (in sequence) or any of the named parameters (in any order) in addition to the unnamed parameter. Nouns with an irregular plural (not formed by adding -s), nouns with no plural form, nouns with more than one plural form, and compound nouns will require one or more of these additional parameters.
If in doubt abut the gender only, omit the first unnamed parameter. When parameter {{{1}}} is omitted, the entry is added to Category:Occitan nouns lacking gender. Someone else will then add the necessary parameters.
If in doubt about the plural, use {{head|oc|noun}}
to generate the inflection line. Add {{attention|oc}}
to identify the entry as needing attention from an Occitan speaker.
For all nouns, the following unnamed parameters are possible. Only parameter {{{1}}} is always required. The other parameters may be omitted when they do not apply :
{{{1}}}
- gender of the noun; accepted values are m, f, c, and mf [1]{{{2}}}
- plural form of the noun [2]{{{3}}}
- alternative gender form of the noun [3]Simple example : galina (“hen”) :
Most nouns do not require these parameters. Compound or irregular nouns, and nouns with more than one plural form, may require one or more named parameters, as follows:
{{{head}}}
, {{{current}}}
, {{{sg}}}}
- replaces the initial headword form; may be used to link components of a compound noun{{{pl}}}
- plural form of the noun; replaces {{{2}}} when included{{{pl2}}}
- secondary plural form, when there is more than one plural formFor nouns that have a form in another gender, the following named parameters may be used for the singular form in the alternative gender. Each of these is considered equivalent to the others, and all function the in the same way as same as {{{3}}}. The gender is actually coded by {{{1}}}
and not by the choice of parameter name:
{{{f}}}
- to specify the feminine singular form (when the entry is masculine){{{m}}}
- to specify the masculine singular form (when the entry is feminine){{{othergender}}}
- to specify the alternative gender singular form (for an entry of either gender)Adding f=
to a masculine automatically also displays the feminine plural as well as the feminine singular, by adding an 's' to the feminine singular form. This can however by overridden:
{{{fpl}}}
- to specify the feminine plural form (when the entry is masculine){{{mpl}}}
- to specify the masculine plural form (when the entry is feminine)
