Is there any way to create page titles with an overline? In crystallography there are symbols like 4 with a specific meaning (an improper fourfold axis) Jcwf (talk) 03:23, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
What about 4̅ ? —Stephen (Talk) 04:13, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
It gives two characters I think, not one. Jcwf (talk) 05:09, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
Yes, it’s 4 and ̅. —Stephen (Talk) 06:50, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
It just does not seem to produce the desired result. Jcwf (talk) 00:46, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
I don't understand why not. It looks fine to me. DAVilla 15:46, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
Hm, and we can't just use DISPLAYTITLE on 4, because 4 already exists. Except, would it be better to handle this in [[4]] with a usage note, "when 4 is overlined,...", the way I presume we would disuse italic titles even when variables in mathematics books are italicised? - -sche (discuss) 21:46, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
I don't think that is very satisfactory. That would mean that improper axes do not get their own page, but screw axes like 6₃ can. Jcwf (talk) 00:46, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
