Babr
Etymology
Derived from Classical Persian بَبْر (babr).
Pronunciation
Proper noun
Babr
- (derogatory) A Wiktionarian from the Denver area who speaks Western American English. Child of immigrants from Afghanistan and born a passive speaker of Dari Persian. He is mainly familiar with the colloquial language, but has been learning the literary language and can generally understand formal written Persian (but might not respond in Persian).

- Sorry for copying your idea Vin, I didn't know what else to put on my userpage, proszę wybacz mi.
Other
- Other languages of my Interest:
- Urdu/Hindi
- Some of my family members are fluent speakers of Urdu due to living in Pakistan as refugees. I cannot speak Urdu at all, though I may ask family members to record audios one day... who knows.
- French
- I'm sorry I hate the French just as much as you but it's an interesting language. I will probably never edit in it, though.
- Arabic
- Probably because of vocabulary.
- Some differences I notice between colloquial Dari as spoken by my family and formal literary Dari:
- "Those "
- Formal: آنهارا (ān-hārā)
- colloquial: واره (wāra)
- " over here"
- Formal: همین جا (hamīn jā)
- Colloquial: اینمینجی (īnamīnjī)
- "you are eating"
- Formal: میخوری (mē-xōrī)
- Colloquial: مخری (muxrī)
- "With me"
- Formal: با من (bā man)
- Colloquial: کتی مه (katē ma)
- the final vowel here seems to be frequently deleted, as I more often hear /kat/ or /kad/. But I have not found attestation of written forms based on those pronunciations.
