Welcome!
Hello, welcome to Wiktionary, and thank you for your contributions so far.
If you are unfamiliar with wiki editing, take a look at Help:How to edit a page. It is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.
These links may help you familiarize yourself with Wiktionary:
You are encouraged to add a BabelBox to your userpage. This shows which languages you know, so other editors know which languages you'll be working on, and what they can ask you for help with.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! If you have any questions, bring them to the Wiktionary:Information desk, or ask me on my talk page. If you do so, please sign your posts with four tildes: ~~~~ which automatically produces your username and the current date and time.
Again, welcome!
I don't know what happened to your edit to dabbing but there's no record of you ever having edited it. Perhaps you forgot to hit Save. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 18:42, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
I reverted your change for two reasons: 1) It is listed under the verb section, when the definition does not indicate as such. 2) The definition is encyclopedic, which is better suited for including in an encyclopedia such as the Wikipedia. Jamesjiao → T ◊ C 23:04, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
I can place it under the Noun section is that is what needs to be done. Please let me know about this before we take it to the 'tea room', another thing I'll have to learn to use , etc.... thank you. DJ Colonel Corn
-> Ok . So sorry to hear you are in crisis. I hope everything works out for the best. Honestly. So, I'm not sure how you want me to 'refine' the article, but, you let me know what you mean by editing or changing whatever you want in the description here on this page and I'll put it that way on the DABBING page. Here's the text of the description:
The term "Dabbing" is thought to have come into existence approximately in the year 2008. Typically, it is vaporizing in what is known as a "dab rig", a small water pipe designed for hash oil vaporization. The user takes a hand-held blowtorch and heats a titanium or quartz surface until the surface, the "nail", or Skillet, reaches the desired temperature indicated by a glowing orange hue. This is followed by placing a drop of hash oil, a process known as "dabbing", on the hot surface with a glass or dental pick until it melts, boils, and vaporizes through the water pipe and into the user's lungs. It's thought that the term comes from the saying 'Just a dab will do you', indicating the potency of today's hash oil.
...and the picture included would be :
... so.. please change/edit and/or decide where this description will go, and I will follow your advice. Thank you for taking the time to work on this with me. Much appreciated. DJ Colonel Corn ] 8 May 2009 0730 PDT
-> OK... yes, it is used for medicinal purposes as per prop 215 of California Law. It used for chronic pain relief, depression, and whatever the patient's doctor is prescribing it for. So. Here's a draft of what I'll put under dab :
"To vaporize hash oil ] , typically in a water pipe, to cool and filter the smoke, in order to lessen the damage to the user's lungs." , and, I would put the picture. I also have another picture on file :
. I'd like to put both , or, if just one, I'd like to use the pic of the person actually 'dabbing' hash oil. By the way, dabbing is the action and dab is the noun, in this case. Dab CAN be a verb also, as in, they went to dab, or , they are going to dab. However it is still a grey area in my mind.
Thank you for all your time with this. I will make the entry upon your approval and/or final edit , and then go to WP and try to convince them to allow my entry. DJ Colonel Corn Sun May 11 17:44:20 2014 (PST) Edited May 11 20:34 2014 (PST)
Confirmed with a friend for an edit on the purpose. Haven't heard from you in a few days and you basically gave me the go-ahead, so , I'm going to post it today. Again, thanks for all the help. DJ Colonel Corn Wed May 14 09:03:45 2014 (PST)

Unlike Wikipedia, our user pages are strictly for dictionary business: what languages/regional or other varieties you speak, areas of knowledge or experience that might have bearing on the credibility of your entries, time zone, etc.
It's one thing to say a little about yourself in the context of the above, but what I deleted was nothing but a vanity-type bio. We're more lenient with those who are making substantial and/or valuable contributions- but you haven't, as yet. Chuck Entz (talk) 16:30, 24 May 2014 (UTC)
