From WT:RFDO#--error:_link_target_missing--_and_incoming_redirects:
Special:Whatlinkshere/--error: link target missing--. (View first 500.) Open each stinkin' one in a separate tab, click , then alt-F4 to close the tab. Alternately, turn on "Lupin popups" via WT:PREFS and mouse-over each link, to use , (open in new tab) (saves one page-load for each page.) Remember that if your watchlist is anything like mine was (over 70k entries watched!) then you'll need to first clear your entire list, using Special:Watchlist/clear. --Connel MacKenzie 18:14, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
(from GP) Go to WT:PREFS, turn on "Popups", "Patrol", "Enhanced patrol", "Refresh patrolling", then in Special:Preferences turn of the mediawiki default "Enhanced" Recentchanges display.) So yes, you were doing something wrong, sortof...that page is obsolete. If you see it at all, you are probably doing it the hard way. If instead you use "popups" to hover over a (diff), you can then click on the (mark) link, and go the the next one (saving quite a few page loads in the process.)
(from RFV#puerile) I didn't know the ſ was available in our fonts, but it clearly is. What's the simplest way of typing it (other than cut and paste as I have just done)? --Enginear 21:30, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
ſ
or ſ
works. If we want something easier to remember, we could always create a {{long s}} or something. —RuakhTALK 21:58, 20 February 2007 (UTC)from Wiktionary_talk:Criteria_for_inclusion#Oxford_English_Dictionary: Here is a link where images of out of copyright pages of the fascicles may be found and rationale. Those who fail to study history are doomed to repeat it - or at least to re-RFD things that have already been kept by a wide margin. Cheers! bd2412 T 02:24, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

In a discussion you made a suggestion (Jan '07) that Etymology be hidden "under" a bar, as translations are. This seemed like a wonderful solution to the considerations raised in the discussion. What are the prospects for getting movement on this idea? Or, is it in process already? I think that the user interface to long entries is poor because readers have to use the scroll bar or "mouse + PgDn" to find what they need if it is not the first PoS (let alone if there is a long etymology). What are your thoughts? Is there a forum for this? How best to bring up? DCDuring 17:17, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
For your convenience Wiktionary talk:Entry layout explained#Etymology should get you there. Your comment was penultimate. DCDuring 17:21, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

I haven't time at present to follow up and add the sense and reference quoted in the following 'pedia quote, but I see the OED2+ has several cites of similar usage at around the same time, ie come out for = publicly support, which it suggests are precursors of come out as -- if anyone else has time, please do so.

This is actual a fairly common collocation (maybe only in the US?), I've restored the usage example. DTLHS (talk) 03:08, 22 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi!
You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.
We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you. /Johan (WMF)
