Welcome

Hello, welcome to Wiktionary, and thank you for your contributions so far.

If you are unfamiliar with wiki-editing, take a look at Help:How to edit a page. It is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.

These links may help you familiarize yourself with Wiktionary:

  • Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.
  • Check out Language considerations to find out more about how to edit for a particular language.
  • Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.
  • If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide for Wikipedia users useful.

sarlugo

Hello NoiX180, I saw you created sarlugo in Bolango few days ago. Could you indicate the reference where you have found this word? This language is pretty exotic so I think this reference should be added into the article. Thank you in advance. Pamputt (talk) 21:33, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi NoiX180, did you find time to check some sources for this word? ;P Pamputt (talk) 17:45, 16 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ngoko, Krama, Krama Inggil

Hi! Do you think it would be better (and cleaner) to have the registers of Javanese be put on the side, similar to the various forms of 18 are listed here? DerekWinters (talk) 21:45, 7 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Old Javanese

Thank you for the entries, but please be more careful. At least look at other entries or the categories to see that this is a problem. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 09:05, 23 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ah, I see. Thank you @Metaknowledge! Cahyo Ramadhani (talk) 09:08, 23 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Template:jv set

Hello. This is very late, but I made the register set template for Javanese (and for Balinese and Sundanese). It goes {{jv set|Krama|Krama Inggil|Krama Andhap|Madya|Ngoko}}. Not all have to be filled out, just leave the ones that don't exist blank. See sampun. Hope this helps. DerekWinters (talk) 02:56, 2 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

@DerekWinters Thank you so much. I've update the set on sampun, it looks there is a bug on madya (appears without space), but I don't see there's problem in the script. Wirjadisastra (talk) 02:11, 3 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Can we change the Javanese font from Noto Javanese to Tuladha Jejeg or Javanese Text. The Noto Javanese is problematic. Wirjadisastra (talk) 02:21, 3 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Not sure who exactly is interested in fonts, but @Wyang, suzukaze-c, -sche, in case you have any input. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 05:17, 3 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
The issue with madya is the font :(. And yes please, noto leaves off the beginning of each letter. DerekWinters (talk) 05:20, 3 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
OK, I added Tuladha and Javanese Text to the list/stack, so they will be tried (and loaded if a user has them) before Noto. - -sche (discuss) 05:47, 3 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
@-sche: Thank you! Why is ajisaka font on there? It's not a usual font to write Javanese. Wirjadisastra (talk) 05:59, 3 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

@DerekWinters, I've updated the set, but I don't know how to make a register possible for two entries. For example, mati#Javanese ('dead') in Javanese has two words for krama inggil: séda & surud. Wirjadisastra (talk) 06:27, 3 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
