@Yivan000 Isn't pinakanakakapagngitngit-ngitngitang-pagsisinunga-sinungalingan supposed to be a noun? pinakanakakapagngitngit-ngitngitang-pagsisinunga-sinungalingan can't be an adjective, because it is composed of pinakanakakapagngitngit-ngitngitan (the adjective), modifying the pagsisinunga-sinungalingan (noun) and if you were to create the root nakakapagngitngit-ngitngitang-pagsisinunga-sinungalingan, this is going to be now Sum of Parts (Wiktionary:Criteria_for_inclusion#Idiomaticity), because they are no longer the nonce words and the words are literal by itself. Instead, what should be done maybe is to create nakakapagngitngit-ngitngitan and have the inflections be there, but nakakapagngitngit-ngitngitan in itself isn't attested nor used besides the "longest word" invention. What do you also think @Mar vin kaiser? 𝄽 ysrael214 (talk) 21:50, 12 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Yea I think I got carried away lol. Feel free to delete the other entries I've made.
- I suggest we just merge all of its etymology on the longest (main) one, and explain how it got there all the way from "ngitngit" and "sinungaling". That way, we don't run into criteria for inclusion issues, since we're just keeping the longest form of it, and not it's components which is questionable to include here. — 🍕 Yivan000 viewtalk 23:17, 12 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Yivan000 Favor. Could you move Kankanaey exclusive templates from {{R:<name>}}
to {{R:kne:<name>}}
so we can see Kankanaey templates more immediately when searching for "Template:R:kne:"? 𝄽 ysrael214 (talk) 09:46, 28 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Done, I have moved 4 templates. — 🍕 Yivan000 viewtalk 12:38, 28 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
- @Yivan000 Nice. Thanks. Ping me next time please as I don't get notified when you have a message. 𝄽 ysrael214 (talk) 15:55, 28 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
- @Yivan000 By the way, are you using the orthography here? https://staging.kwfwikaatkultura.ph/kankanaey-3/ 𝄽 ysrael214 (talk) 11:16, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
- @Ysrael214 Yes, that's how I learned the usage of "ë" in the first place.
- Also, IMO, it isn't really helpful much since it's just a basic orthography with parts just straight up copy-pasted from the Tagalog one. This is mostly guidance for loanwords from Tagalog/English/Spanish, and not so much local words.
- The general guidance is "kung ano ang bigkas, siyang sulat", but for Kankanaey, it's hard since there's a lot of ways to pronounce local words (e.g. see otek for the variants of spelling, and I'm not really sure which should be the "main" one). — 🍕 Yivan000 viewtalk 23:17, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
In etymology templates, the first language code is for the language of the entry and the second is for the source language {{inh|tl|poz-pro|
puts the entry in Category:Tagalog terms inherited from Proto-Malayo-Polynesian. Please use {{inh|kne|poz-pro|
for Kankanaey entries. Thanks! Chuck Entz (talk) 01:47, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi! First of all, sorry for breaking the autocad system. I'm pretty new to editing in Wiktionary and I thought that was the way to do it. If you don't mind, do you know how I could create those modules? Thanks :) SantiChau23 (talk) 00:25, 23 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
- You want to add items that can be used for
{{label}}
, right? If so:
- Create the language-specific module at
Module:labels/data/lang/LANGUAGE_CODE
(like what I did at Module:labels/data/lang/kne for the Kankanaey language).
- Only then can you do what you did, which is add your newly created module to the list at Module:labels/data/lang.
- Hope this helps. — 🍕 Yivan000 viewtalk 01:04, 23 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
